A COMMUNAL GATHERING OF ANIMIST AND CREATIVE PRACTICE ROOTED IN THE EARTH & TIMED WITH THE SEASON.

29th of April – 4th of May in Casa del Agua,
Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Guided & Held by Katharina Louise & Maria Torres

When the sun and flowers are singing to each other and the land is penetrated with the forces of growth, we invite you to gather in the magical mountains of Andalusia.

To breathe, create and celebrate, to feed the web of reciprocity together, giving thanks for the bounty that was, is and will surely come.

In the animist traditions of Europe, Beltane/ Maifest/ Os Maios, marked the threshold into the fertile half of the agricultural year. It was a moment to celebrate union – between earth and sun, human and more-than-human. The land hums thickly with the busyness of life procreating with itself. the old traditions aligned towards this energy in a way that would ensure the lifeforce to continue thriving, ensuring that the destination of a still far away harvest would be reached. Life was honored not as something to control, but as something to tend, honor and serve. This type of interdependent devotion is precisely what we want to revive with this gathering:

Where can we become stewards for
the lifeforce of Earth to continue flowing vitally?

Many habitual contemporary behaviours disconnect us from the natural flows that sustain life, and because this misalignment has become normal, we rarely question it, even as its effects become increasingly visible in declining fertility across our bodies, our soils, and our waters.

In the face of the massive separation of human society from nature,
how can we become pollinators of the web of life through showing up as collaborators and re-weaving bridges?

How do we live fertility as a state of being?

Wether it is birthing future generations or the capacity to mother projects, communities, art and gardens.

The antidote to destruction is creation.

Sufficiency and an abundance of creativity is the heritage of Earth and with that our birthright, too.

That is why we want to offer recipes of communal simplicity that hum of the old magic: building altars for beings who visit the land of beloved casa del agua, celebrating maydance together, greeting the sun on the hill at dawn, alignment work around fertility, washing our faces in the pure waters of rio andarax, natural dying with local plants and talisman crafting, praying with the fire, divining with the elements, honoring our lineages and enjoying food as medicine.

All of that to soak in the richness that makes life and its trials worth living! You are invited to immerse yourself in the rhythm of the season with us —
to plant, to court life, to make art with the elements, and to remember the ways of connection, pleasure, and devotion.
